This ongoing research piece, first featured in Cha Magazine (UAL) focuses on the Trinidadian tadjah as an expression of diasporic unity for Indo-Caribbean peoples. A Muslim funerary rite by origin, tadjah structures and the wider festival of Hosay have syncretised to form a vital expression of Brownness for Indo-Trinidadian peoples of Muslim, Hindu or Christian faith.
